One of our goals this year, is to help Propel families make their voices heard in the conversations about
school equity and reform that are going on in the Pittsburgh area and in Harrisburg. With that in mind, we wanted to make you aware of an event that state Rep. Jake Wheatley is presenting on October 28th from 6-8 PM at the Hill House (1825 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219). The program is titled, “Schools that Work: A conversation about equity and excellence in education in America”.
Dr. Howard Fuller, former superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools, will keynote the evening. Dr. Fuller is a tremendous speaker, a founder of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) and a champion of choice and equity. You can find a number of his speeches on Youtube; here is a short
