The Propel Montour Band, consisting of 50 students in grades four though eight, competed in the High Note Music Festival at Carnegie Mellon University this past weekend! This festival is a musical critique of the students’ performance in the following criteria: tone, intonation, technique, balance, and interpretation. Based on the assessment score, the band received an ‘Excellent‘ rating. Not only is this the first time for Propel Montour to participate in this festival but was also the first Charter School to compete. The students enjoyed the experience of performing for adjudicators who provided feedback on their performance.
